Moveable Arts

South Burlington Public Library presents a workshop for adults with Jude Bond:
“Moveable Arts: Read, Play, Make!”  A hands-on training for adults with a focus on literacy, art, and gross motor play. 4 CE credits available.
Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 9:15am to 1:30pm
With modeling and instruction by a professional arts educator, Jude Bond, the South Burlington Public Library will once again offer a hands-on workshop for adult professionals to inspire and guide them in developing art and literature-connected projects for children ages 4 to 8 years of age.
“Moveable Arts: Read, Play, Make!” will highlight gross motor movement in art activities with a children’s literature component.   Participants will learn about visual literacy, the work of selected artists and the importance of kinesthetic and tactile experiences for children. One project will be done in the session and participants will leave with a book, materials for another project and a full set of instructions, including the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS) for each project.
Networking, brainstorming about materials, sharing experiences, and asking questions will be encouraged and a delicious lunch will be provided.  4 CE credits and a certificate will be available to participants at the end of the day.  This workshop is available to home childcare providers, afterschool professionals, early education professionals (Early Essential Education and preschool teachers) and public librarians.

Registration is limited to 20 participants, and there is no cost to participants. Please email natacha at nliuzzi@southburlingtonvt.gov to register.
