Seed Starting and Beginner Gardening

a set of six small pots with seedlings, and a small hoe and shovel against a green background

Calling all beginner or almost-beginner gardeners!
Come get a great head start on your garden this year with a fun workshop with one of the expert gardeners and educators from the Vermont Garden Network and their mobile classroom van!

During this workshop you will learn:

How to plan a garden.
How to choose and start seeds.
Setting up your garden for success.
Plus, get some great tips to  help your 2024 garden thrive!

And, you'll really get into the dirt planting up to four small peat pots with easy-starting seeds to take home and nurture on a sunny windowsill and then plant in your garden (after it warms up!)

This program will be held outdoors with Vermont Garden Networks mobile classroom "Veducation" van, weather permitting. Find us in the lot behind the Library. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the Digital Lab.

The Library is ADA accessible, patrons are asked to call (802) 846-4140 in advance if special services are required.

Masks may be worn in the library and at any library program.
